Please join us for a meaningful service to commemorate the beginning Lent. This simple service will provide opportunity for reflection as we prepare to enter a season of fostering deeper spiritual connection before celebrating the resurrection of Christ.

Join us as we welcome new members, worship together as a family, and share a meal following the service.

In conjunction with our GROW focus, we are Going to God FIRST. This includes declaring the first of each month as a day of prayer. The prayer chapel and sanctuary will be open from 6am until 6pm. You can sign up to pray for one hour on the sign up sheet outside the prayer chapel. The Day of Prayer will conclude with a corporate prayer service at 6:00pm.

Women, bring a favorite finger food to share and come enjoy a morning of fellowship as we find out who our “secret sisters” were for the year. We will also draw names for new sisters for this coming year. Didn’t participate last year? No worries - we would love to have you come all the same! Not wanting to participate next year? That’s fine too - come and enjoy the morning with your sisters in Christ.

Our teen quizzers will be traveling to Durango to pit our knowledge of Luke chapter 1-16 against that of Durango Faith Community’s quiz team. We will leave Cortez at 7:30am and be back in Cortex by 3pm. We would love some cheerleaders!

In lieu of our regular Family Sunday Potluck, we will be having Frito Pie on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Please sign up in the foyer for what you want to bring. If you want to bring other potluck items, that is welcome as well.

Middle schoolers - come to the Cortez Rec Center on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 5:30pm for a fun time of games and food. This event is a collaboration between Montezuma Ministerial Alliance and Cortez Parks and Rec. If you would like to help provide supervision, please see Pastor JanElle.

The first Sunday of each month, we enjoy a meal together following the morning worship service. Plan to bring something to share. If you can’t or if you forget, please stay anyway. There is always enough food.

You are invited to join us on Christmas Eve at 6pm for a simple service and scripture and carols by candlelight. Be sure to arrive early to enjoy the harp prelude!

Meet at church at 3pm to ride in our float from Parade of Lights to carol throughout the neighborhood. We will also take the church van to carol for those who live outside of town. We will return to church to enjoy some hot cocoa!

We will decorate a float with lights at 1pm then join the Parade of Lights (line up at 5pm, parade starts at 6pm).

It’s that time of the year again! Our church blesses our community by decorating our car trunks and providing a fun, safe fall activity. Since the “I Spy” twist was so well received, we’ll have things hidden in each trunk for the kids to find that correspond with a bible verse. So dress up your little and come by for a great afternoon!

Child Evangelism Fellowship will be conducting a training on Saturday, October 19, 2024. If you minister to children in any way, you will be inspired as well as equipped with practical ideas.

This training is in conjunction with an effort to begin a Good News Club at a local elementary school.

This event is free and lunch will be provided.

Our Cortez Nazarene family has been working to create a space to bless our community - a place for scout groups, moms' groups, family groups - a place for people to gather and build relationships.

Come help us celebrate on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 10:45am.

We will worship, have a cookout, and enjoy some yard games.

Breakfast! at 9am AT CHURCH. The men have been meeting at 7:30am on Saturdays at the Ute Cafe. They will resume that time and location on October 5. On the last Saturdays of the month, the men meet for breakfast a little later and at the church.

Build! Following men's breakfast, anyone who can lend a hand are invited to help finish building the new play structure. There are other jobs to be done as well such as finishing the fencing at the corners, moving some rock, mowing, etc.
